Displays constantly rearrange

I am experiencing an issue with a Mac Studio where my monitors sometimes rearrange after sleep and also sometimes rearrange after a reboot.

Details:

Monitor 1 is an LG UltraFine UHD 27UN850-W connected to the Studio via USB-C cable.

Monitor 2 is a BenQ BL2420PT connected to the Studio via a DisplayPort to USB-C cable.

Monitor 3 is a BenQ BL2420PT connected to the Studio via a DisplayPort to USB-C cable.

The LG UltraFine UHD 27UN850-W is the 'main' monitor.

Running Mac Studio Ultra 2022, 128 GB Memory, MacOS Ventura 13.1.

I've tried replacing the cables. I've tried connecting the LG UltraFine UHD 27UN850-W with an HDMI cable instead of a USB-C cable. On the BENQ monitors, I've tried using HDMI to USB-C cables. None of this helps- problem persists.

This is a new Mac. I did not use Migration Assistant to move my files from my old iMac.

In Settings, I have "Displays have separate Spaces" toggled on. If I disable or toggle off "Displays have separate Spaces," the problem persists. So it does not matter if "Displays have separate Spaces" is toggled on or off. When toggling this setting on/off, I always reboot after I make a change.

When the monitors randomly rearrange after resuming from sleep and/or after a reboot, I have to go to System Settings --> Displays --> Arrange --> and rearrange them.

How can I resolve this issue?

Mac Studio, macOS 13.1

Hello Peter,

Thank you for posting to the Apple Support Communities.

It would be suggested to test connecting your displays when your Mac is started in safe mode. Please follow these instructions: Start up your Mac in safe mode

You can also find helpful information in this Apple Support article: If your external display is dark or low resolution. If the issue persists in safe mode, please contact Apple Support directly for more help.

All the best!

I connected one of the DisplayPort monitors to my Mac Studio using a straight HDMI cable. The problem still occurs. So one monitor DisplayPort to USB-C. One monitor USB-C. One monitor HDMI.

Another problem (not new, but related) is that programs will randomly rearrange themselves. So if I have a program on my left monitor, for example, sometimes it moves to the right monitor or vice versa.

Is this an issue that just occurred in Ventura? I had been using a 2013 iMac, which was stalled on macOS Catalina. I never had an issue like this before.

I can't reproduce these issues.

I work with two displays, one being the internal display of my MacBook Pro, and the other a 1080p display, connected via USB-C to HDMI adapter.

I have not had things jump from one display to the other, or displays moving out of position.

I do not access to another external display, so I cannot test if that would cause this sort of problem.
