It is only possible to change the notification sounds if the individual app offers the function, within the app. Some apps offer you the ability to change the sound for the notification, most often email apps, but most other apps do not.

Change notification sound in differen apps. can't we change the notification sound according to different apps? I think in previous versions of IOS we could change it. but in ios 16 we cant. why?

Choose notification sounds for individual apps In this guide for iOS 18 (which my phone is on 18.3.1), there is this info: Tap Sounds, select a sound, then tap < at the top of the screen. But on my phone, the Sounds option is a Toggle, and I can only toggle it on/off. How do I select notification sound for a specific app? There are some apps with bizarre default sounds but it's important so I don't want to just turn it off.
