ios Music app deleting songs/albums

The music app is deleting songs/albums at seemingly random. These are not purchases from itunes these are mp3 files I've had for years. I have well over 100gb available on my device, optimize storage is turned off. The songs were initially available on my device when first syncing but delete themselves when I try to play them and are not available on my phone after re-syncing with my PC.

You are likely hitting long existing bugs with the music app thinking your files are not available in your region. On my older phones it grays them out and shows an error message to that extent, on my 13 Pro it just makes them disappear instead. Same for me these are local mp3 files and don't come from the iTunes store or apple music service. Disabling all the Apple Music and service-related settings for the Music App, deleting the files from the phone, and then re-sync'ing from iTunes on my PC usually allows them to play again, at least until an OS upgrade resets the settings and re-enables the services. This has been happening for several years on me at this point with no permanent fix in sight and is driving me crazy. I don't understand how they can so horribly break basic mp3 library playback by applying DRM rules to non-DRM'd files and leave it broken for years...
