Mac OSX Ventura / open in a new window instead in a new tab / On multi screen choose on which screen the window will open

Hello, almost all my question are in the title. Recently update to ventura , went in settings/ desktop & Dock / Windows & App / Choose tab when opening a file : never . Restart computer which still opening the file in the same window, if i press Cmd while clicking it'll still open in a new tab but not a new window. I know my question can soung strange but i'm facing a problem organising the apparence of my screen.

Same for if i double click a photo it'll open on the screen define as Main screen even if i need it on another screen. How can i decide on which screen my file will open. For a photo even if i bing the window after it opened on the main screen , on the screen where i need it , computer won't save the place of the window and will open next picture on the main screen again... Very annoying ... So if anyona can give me sone tips that will be great

Hi Autantpourmoi,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're trying to open multiple windows with several different displays. You will need to use Mission Control to open several workspaces.

"Open Mission Control

  • Swipe up with three or four fingers on your trackpad, or double-tap the surface of your Magic Mouse with two fingers.
  • Open the Mission Control app, which is in your Applications folder.
  • Press the Mission Control key  on your Apple keyboard or Touch Bar.

Add spaces and switch between them

The Spaces bar at the top of the Mission Control window contains thumbnails of each desktop space and each window that is in full screen or Split View.

To add a space, move your pointer to the Spaces bar, then click the add button  on the right:

When you have multiple spaces, you can switch between them by clicking the thumbnails the top of the Mission Control window. Or use these methods, which work even when you're not in Mission Control:

  • Swipe left or right with three or four fingers on your trackpad, or swipe left or right with two fingers on your Magic Mouse.
  • Press Control–Right Arrow or Control–Left Arrow on your keyboard."

You can find these and more in Use Mission Control on your Mac.

Regards.
