escape key " esc" and Siri not working due to issue with Siri.app

As described in this topic 253332998 the "esc" key does not work, Siri neither, if the Siri.app process crashes in the background (noticeable because Siri cannot be started neither via shortcut nor via icon in menu bar or voice command).

When you restart or log out, or kill Siri.app process, Siri relaunches (and works again), also the ESC key starts working again.

I've been experiencing this on my macbook Air M1 and my macbook Pro 14" on both Monterey and Ventura OS.

It is important to report the case to Apple Support . Many people have exposed this problem in this and other forums, but few have opened the case and worked on it with Apple.

Pd.: You can also leave your Product Feedback - Apple although it will not help to find the problem.

Hmmm.... I might suspect third party interference

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

To trouble shoot further you can:

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

—A SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

I don't have any of these or other strange apps installed. In fact I have tried all those steps, including restoring the computer, and creating another user, it always happens again...
It is reported to Technical Support but they don't know anything. It seems that they need more reports and collect more information. A colleague had his computer in AppleCare Service and in another Authorized Technical Service and the issue was presented again. It looks like a macOS thing.
The problem appears after time of use working without turning off the macbook and it is not known when or what triggers it. It seems that when Siri crashes it also crashes with the esc key. When you restart the Mb there is no trace of it.

Did you run the Apple Diagnostic and see if it kicks out an error code?

Everything appears normal. I have reported it and Tech Support is investigating.

Other person has run CapturesData and uploaded to Technical Support in her reports, for more than a year and two different operating systems, but it seems that the case is not being managed at all well or Apple is not transparent enough...

That is why I recommend that everyone who suffers from it make reports to Apple Support .
