I seem to have a problem! In my contacts i have a list called Iphone (which i did not set up) and when someone sends me a whats app only the number comes up not the name and when i search for a contact the name is not there

This seems to be a whatsapp (and google) issue.
I recommend contacting them by following these steps from within that app:

on whats app my contact names are not coming up only the number. when i go into contacts i only have a list that says iphone. i never set this list up.
