static when receiving cellular or whatsapp calls on mac

have a specific problem: since upgrading to MacOS Monterrey (I am fully updated to 12.6), I have been having issues with cellular calls. I have my macOS and iPhone 12 (updated to 15.7). The options on the phone to "allow calls on other devices" with my Mac selected. MacOS FaceTime is also already enabled to make and receive cellular calls I have no issues with my wifi. I have no issues with making FaceTime calls - the sound and video comes clean. And I also have no issues with my speakers, the sound comes clean from applications or system sounds. Restarting devices and disabling and restarting the options in Phone settings on iPhone or FaceTime settings on MacOS does not help. The static-laiden and garbled sound from relayed cellular calls is the only time this happens. Is there a recourse for this?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.6

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Arkhipic,

If we understand your post correctly, you're able to make and receive FaceTime calls normally on your Mac but phone calls and WhatsApp calls have static or garbled sound. We’d like to help.

It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting already. Updating your iPhone may help resolve this. The steps to do that are here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Let us know if that resolves this issue for you.
