Using 2 Thunderbolt displays with a new M2 Mac Mini

I am thinking about upgrading my intel Mac Mini to which I have 2 Apple Thunderbolt displays attached. My thunderbolt displays are in series with the second plugged into the first via thunderbolt cable. I would like to upgrade to a M2 Mac Mini. Will I be able to use these displays in series with one Thunderbolt Usb C adapter to Thunderbolt 2 in series like I have them now or would I need to buy 2 adapters, one for each display. I really like my old Thunderbolt displays and would like to continue to use them both. Thanks.

Mac mini 2018 or later

FYI apparently the base model Mac Mini M2 can run two Apple Thunderbolt Displays (daisy-chained).
