What is the best photo app to replace iphoto?

I bought a new iMac and have all my old photos using iphoto which is now obsolete,

what app should i use on my new mac for my photos?

iMac, macOS 10.13

I think Photos.app replaces it and it's included with macOS.

Fed Up W Photos I have been having so much trouble with Apple photos for I would say seven or eight years now – – and to be clear I'm talking about the Apple Photos app that used to be called iPhoto. Anyway I have spent soooooooo, soooooooo long trouble shooting that I really just want an alternative and wanted to know if any there was anything out there anyone liked. IPhoto I want to import some photos into IPhoto on mac for review. I don't want to keep them on my computer or take up space once I've deleted them from IPhoto. Is that possible
