Bluetooth Hands Free Commands

Hello everyone. I commute to work on a motorcycle a lot and use a Cardo voice system in my helmet. In the past I was always able to just say "hey siri, call XXX" and it would call. Like 2 months ago, I noticed this changed somehow. Now siri tells me to unlock my phone. I have had the same iphone 12 pro max and the same bluetooth coms for 2 years now. I'm guessing something changed in an update. How do I fix this???

i had a similar problem with my iphone11 and airpods (2nd gen) when i updated to 16.2. whenever i would ask siri to call someone when my phone was locked, using only the first name, she would either try to call ME, or completely the wrong person.

turns out, i had to go in and redownload my preferred voice files in accessibility. after that (and a restart) it worked fine again.

can’t hurt to try it

this is where i d/led the language file to fix the problem i was having. not sure WHY it fixed it. i don’t even have voice over turned on, but after i did it, “my hey siri, call <firstname>” started working correctly again.

maybe the sound files are linked some how. i have no idea. thought it might do the trick for your issue, as well.
