When trying to send an audio message in iMessage by pressing the Audio button I get the aforementioned message instead of the microphone icon.
This seems to be a recurring problem to many in the community and I tried all posted suggestions.
In short:
all to no avail.
Any pointers, suggestions?

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Sound Recognition, then turn off Sound Recognition.

when I also click on the speaking icon I get the message ‘cannot send audio messages at this time’ I too have sound recognition off
