I have spent hours with Microsoft - uninstalling and reinstalling the programs. Removing files from the Library, etc. etc. Finally they told me there is an incompatibility between 365 and Ventura. Does anyone know if this is true?

I'm not having any issues with Excel or Word Versions 16.69 (Microsoft 365) and Ventura 13.1 on my 2021 24" M1 iMac.

The x in the red close button at the top left of the window? That doesn't quit Word (or Safari) for me -- suspect you may be referring to some other x but can't think of what.

The program opens to the Home page of Word, Excel, etc. I open a file with no problem. When I close the file the Home page closes as well and after about a minute the program shuts down.
So I can't go from file to file without reopening again.
What exact problem are you experiencing?
Are you using the file > close menu option or are you clicking on the x?
Clicking on the X. I just tried file close and it close the program even more quickly.
Clicking on the x is supposed to exit the app. File > close should just close the open document.
