Satechi mini adapter type-C pro hub

Hello!

I recently bought this adapter to be able to connect my MacBook Air M1 (2020) to my tv through the HDMI port. I’ve decided to go specifically with the brand Satechi, since I’ve heard it’s one the best and also since it’s being sold on the official Apple Store online. Unfortunately after using it for mere 20 minutes, it’s started to get really (almost alarmingly!) hot. Is there anyone who has been having the same issue with this product? Anyone knows if the overheating issue could cause any future harm to the Mac itself?

A simpler option than using a hub is to buy a certified USB-C to HDMI cable.

As an example, this is the cable I use with my M1 MacBook Air to connect to my 4k display as well as occasionally connecting to my Samsung 4K TV:

There are cheaper "generic" non-certified cables but how well they will work will be a roll of the dice.
