Calendar Invites for Shared Calendar

One of my clients has shared their calendar with me for the past 4 years. Within the last 3 months, I started getting meeting invites to accept/maybe/decline to my iphone. I am not invited to any of these events. These events are solely for her. I do not get these invites via email. I do not want them on my iPhone as they are not invites for me to accept/maybe/decline.

The shared calendar is a Google Calendar. And after she accepts them, they are not removed from my iphone.

How do I stop receiving her private calendar invites to my iPhone?

Thanks in advance,

Janine

I had the person who was sharing their calendar make the change in their Google Calendar. Apparently I was set to "make changes and manage sharing" which meant I got all her appointments and could accept or decline them. I had her change my permissions to be able to view her calendar but not make changes and manage sharing. That has fixed it for me!

Hi SaltLifeDewey,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're getting unwanted event invites in Calendar. This article has some steps that may help stop that from happening: Delete spam calendars and events on iPhone.

"

If you get unwanted calendar invitations or event notifications, you might have accidentally subscribed to a spam calendar. To remove the events, delete the calendar subscription.

How to remove calendar spam on your iPhone in iOS 14.6 or later

  1. Open the Calendars app.
  2. Tap the unwanted Calendar event.
  3. Tap Unsubscribe from this Calendar at the bottom of the screen.
  4. To confirm, tap Unsubscribe.

How to remove calendar spam on your iPhone in earlier versions of iOS

  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.
  3. Look for a calendar that you don't recognize. Tap the More Info button  next to that calendar, then scroll down and tap Delete Calendar.

If this doesn't fix the issue, delete the calendar subscription in Settings:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Calendar > Accounts. Or if you use iOS 13, tap Passwords & Accounts > Accounts instead.
  3. Tap Subscribed Calendars.
  4. Look for a calendar that you don't recognize. Tap it, then tap Delete Account.
