airplay: Harman Kardon speaker is connected but no sound on certain apps, only on Apple Music

Hi, I'm looking for help.


A Harman Kardon Citation 200 speaker is succesfully connected through Airplay. Louder/softer-light is visably working yet there is no sound. I've resetted many times, tried everything (different browsers) and this is so far the outcome: if I connect through Airplay no sound. But strangely enough, if I select Apple Music the speaker does work normally...

There must be something wrong with a setting in iOS I guess. Who can help me out?

Hi there, tanx for the effort you took. Yet it is of no help I'm sorry to say. The Harman Kardon does make a connecting through Airplay after sewtup. Yet it refuses to play sound f.i. if I select a radiostation through google browser, or a tv app here in the Netherlands.


It only plays sound when I get audio through the Music app.


In my soundsettings on every device, the HK shows as a connectable device. It does actually connect once selected (I can see the lights on the speaker go on and of if I change the loudness on my iMac, iphone or macbook). But, and that is the problem: There is no sound through apps selected. It only works with sound through iMusic. This is the case on all devices iMac, Macbook Pro, iPhone...


I refuse to believe I'm the first, or only one experiencing difficulties in setting hup a steady connection with a Harman Kardon device. Something must be wrong in some settings. Help! :-)
