Mac Studio speakers dead

I have a Mac Studio and a Studio Monitor Display. Sound in the Display cuts out after two seconds; same with the Mac Studio's internal speaker. Sound works fine with an external LG monitor with its own speakers. I have unplugged the Mac Studio twice for an hour. The problem has not gone away. It worked fine the first several months I had it. Is it a problem in one of the upgrades? Is there a fix? One reason I got the Studio Monitor Display was its speaker system seemed good enough so I didn't need the clutter of desktop speakers. But now I've got bupkus.

I have a very new Mac Studio @ V12.5.1 experiencing the same problem. Seems to have developed this "problem" in just the last few weeks and doesn't seem to be application specific. Anyone else? Ideas on a resolution?

Well, it seems hardly a new problem. Check posts from July 8th 2022 "Audio stops on Mac Studio display after a few seconds" as this seems to be a chronic problem pointing to some software shortcomings and no true fix coming anytime soon.

Best advice points to powering down the display to cause a reboot. Repeat as necessary!

Trusting you physically disconnected the AC power cord and not just pulled out the lightening cable??

A reboot of the screen software will start with seeing three white dots in the centre of your screen after reconnecting the AC power. If you're assured the screen had rebooted (or cannot reboot), then it might suggest a more dire problem....

Yes, I physically unplugged--three times. The odd thing is, the Studio Mac puts out sound in my second monitor, an LG, but it goes mute after two seconds on the Studio Monitor, which has far better speakers. So it's got to be a Mac Studio-to-Studio monitor software issue.

Before going too much further, you might want to reconfigure & use only one screen at a time in an attempt to properly isolate the problem and eliminate any possible conflict due to the LG monitor. From what you've said, it seems to appear that its a problem with your Mac Studio Monitor and in the end, may require tech support to diagnose & resolve.

I tried that 3 times. Unplugged the Mac Studio for as much as an hour. No difference.
