Apple watch timer app

I use this app probably 10 times a day almost every day. Every so often, SIRI decides I don't have the app and need to install it. But if I look, I find it in the list and can set one simply. But that is not the point... I don't want to fiddle with it.. I want it done via my voice command.

I have found simply shutting down the watch and starting it back up clears the issue.

I never have reinstalled the app... But why is it lost in the first place?

It might be how you're asking her, are you saying "please"? I'm just messing with you (please laugh).

No more jokes... Try using different requests until you find the one that she understands every time.

Are you in a noisy place where she might not be hearing the request clearly or in its entirety?

I usually say, "Hey Siri start a timer for 5 minutes."

You can try pausing between your "Hey Siri" and your request, but the pause isn't really required these days because she is plenty quick, quicker than years ago.

You could also have a little bit of foreign material blocking the mic. You could try cleaning the hole(s) with a soft brush (an old soft bristle toothbrush would be great). Just do so gently ;-)

Thanks!!

I say it the same every time. I enable Siri by hitting the button and saying Set a timer for x minutes.

And good thought on background noise, but this in almost total silence at my home.

Works 99.9% of the time until she wants me to load the timer application. Then she is persistent and will not cooperate. The timer app is indeed on the watch.. I can do it manually. But once I shut down and turn back on, all is good.
