Wifi 6 not available in Indonesia

Hi Community,

I live in Indonesia. I have a few Wifi 6 (802.11ax) enabled devices in the house (MacBook Air M2, iPad M2, iPhone 12 mini) that can't connect to my Wi-Fi using the Wifi 6 protocol.

I have a Ubiquiti Unifi U6 Lite and uses its 5 Ghz band exclusively - I turned off its 2.4 Ghz radio. Simply said, I have the hardware that supports Wifi 6.

My Samsung S22 can connect to the Wifi 6 protocol easily, but the Apple products are stuck with Wifi 5 protocol (802.11ac). I confirmed this through the Access Point management page. I've also confirmed this with other locations with complete Wifi 6 support where none of the Apple products are able to connect using Wifi 6 protocol, even when Oppo/Xiaomi phones can actually connect using Wifi 6.

Any ideas why Apple products can't connect Wifi 6 in Indonesia? It feels like false advertising when all the specs pages for the mentioned products clearly states 802.11ax support but the products cannot use it.

iPad Pro, 11-inch, 4th Gen, Wi-Fi

Hi racheals14,

An update: the M2 Macbook Air actually connected to the Wifi6. Therefore nothing was wrong with my settings. The settings I have is a bit more advanced than what was suggested by Apple, but all the fundamentals in the webpage you pointed at have been met. Thanks for the tip.

I actually contacted Apple support; the called me, wasn't able to solve, promised to call me again within the day, and they never did. It's been a couple of days since.

Quite disappointing, to be honest.
