Turn off find my iPhone

Switched carriers and they are asking me to turn off find my iPhone on a phone that has already been turned in

iPhone 14, 16

lost/stolen iphone 8 I've lost my Iphone 8. The "find my phone" appt was not on. At the same time, I've changed carriers. When I go to "find my phone" and select "all" I don't see the lost phone on the list. Does this mean the current carrier has already erased the data? I do have the serial # and IME number. Could I be using any of those to confirm my data is removed from the lost/stolen phone?
