For a long time iTunes has not updated album cover pictures properly on my Mac.
The same picture is used for several albums.
Some are wrong, missing or in other ways mixed up.
What happens and how does one fix it?

You can try retrieving the correct artwork for your library with these steps:
To retrieve album artwork from the iTunes Store for your entire library, choose File > Library > Get Album Artwork.

What model and year of your Mac is showing when you click > About This Mac?
What operating system and what version of iTunes is currently running?
We recommend updating your software if you haven't already done so, as this may help address the issue you are having.
Make sure you have a current Time Machine backup before making these changes:

Note that the newer versions of iTunes changes the way music, movies, TV shows, podcasts and audiobooks are managed on a Mac.

I've tried that dozens of times, and it doesn't work. I got a hint from a friend that it could held to delete the cache under iTunes/artwork. It helped some, but not completely.
I'm wondering why Apple themselves don't have anything to say about this on their own support page. But then again, they are probably busy counting their money...
