Apple 14 use for recording vocals. Had to buy an adapter as no port for earbuds, still cannot record with good quality

I have an iPad Pro (2018) that I want to connect to my audio recording setup: a usb microphone (I use an USB-C cable) and headphones with a mini jack connector. Alone, the microphone works perfectly with my iPad, but it doesn’t allow me to connect my headphones simultaneously. Connecting an external microphone on iPhone XR I have tried connecting an external Apogee microphone (with 3.5 mm audio jack to lightning adaptor). I don’t hear any difference in audio recorded. is there a third party app needed to ensure the iPhone records from the external microphone source and not the internal built in mic?

How to Input an External Mic, Macbook Pro M1 2021 *M1 Macbook Pro 16" purchased late 2021 Since there is no dedicated mic input for an external microphone (just headphone jack,) how does one hook in a 1/4" phone plug from a wireless external microphone transmitter (direct, not first going through a mixer?) If it's through one of the USB-C ports, what adapters would be needed? Thank You.
