I want to add a big amount of wav files to Apple music. Artist is embedded in the metadata, but not showing in Apple Music.

Somebody knows a fix?

Neither Music nor iTunes expect to be able to read metadata from .wav files, which don't normally carry a tag despite it being possible. If the tracks are arranged in a conventional <Artist>/<Album>/## <Name>.<Ext> layout then see https://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/tagfromfilename.asp for an AppleScript that can extract the data from the path and add it to your tracks, so long as you add them to the library in a way that doesn't move or copy the files. If the data is in the path but set out differently then the script could be adapted.

Hi there sdemaeyer,

Thanks for posting to Apple Support Communities.

WAV file format does not embed the metadata. If you'd like to keep the tracks intact as WAV files, you can manually edit the information: Change song and CD information in Music on Mac

If you'd like to covert the files, here is more information about that:

Convert a song to a different file format with the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows

That should help.

Take care.
