Deleting Marketplace icon/notification from messenger.

Since updating to the iPhone 14 Plus, I noticed that I cannot delete the Marketplace notification bar in messenger. I can delete the actual message, but NOT the notification. I cannot swipe it left or right. When I tap it or press it, it changes to a screen that says, "NO messages. New messages will appear her".

How can I remove this Marketplace icon eye sore?

I'm using 16.2. I already did the rebooting thing. I thought about uninstalling it next. I attached a photo. The icon will not swipe left or right to delete. If I press it or hold it, it only goes to a next screen telling me there are no new messages.

Hello spursfan09,

We would like to see how we can help you with your notification that will not go away. Which iOS version are you currently running? Go to Settings > General > About for the version. If you restart your iPhone, does the issue return? Follow the steps in this link to restart: Restart your iPhone

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right
  3. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  4. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Cheers!

Hello spursfan09,

It sounds like this is happening in the Facebook Messenger app with Marketplace chats and story notifications. If this is true, please use the following steps below:

If you were unable to resolve this with the previous steps, then we'd recommend taking these next: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

If an app on your iPhone or iPad doesn't work as expected, try this.

1. Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2. Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3. Check for updates

To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4. Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.

- If you found the app on the App Store, contact the app developer. If the app is made by Apple or came with your iPhone or iPad, contact Apple Support for your iPhone or for your iPad.

- If you bought the app recently and you no longer want it, you can also request a refund.

Should you continue to have issues with this app only, then it would be best to contact the developer of this app for further support. Here's how you can do that: How to contact an app developer They'll need to take it from here.

Wishing you well, take care.
