I bought 3 home pod minis for my house. I was able to invite my wife & one Child successfully to use them. Both of them have iPhone 14, my other kids have iPhone 12s that are running iOS 16.2 & no matter what troubleshooting I do I can’t get the invitation to show up for them in HomeKit.
Try If you can't access a home or accept an invitation in the Home app - Apple Support.
I've a vague feeling someone posted that updating the device name might help the invitation come through, although I cannot track down a post with this information.

Yes I have tried all the deleting and re-adding as had been suggested in that thread and nothing is working on the other devices despite restarting all HomePods, Apple TVs, phones, macs, & iPads. I even reset one of the phones completely & that didn’t work. Why doesn’t home kit just work?
I don't know, however I know there were issues with the roll out of iOS 16.2 and the New Homekit Architecture which lead to the update being pulled. At this point it is probably best to contact Official Apple Support.
