Just purchased the apple tv 4K today and the remote will not charge

Remote for apple tv 4k will not charge or turn on

To charge the remote, use a USB cable. It has no indicators to show it is charging, but it will charge when done as described in here: Charge your Siri Remote - Apple Support.

- Charge directly to a computer USB port,

- or charge to a USB power adapter in an AC socket.

(New models should ship with a battery that isn’t depleted yet, though.)


A new Apple TV, that is turned on/powered, should pair with a single nearby Siri Remote easily and automatically, but a manual pairing procedure is listed in the related article: If your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote isn't working - Apple Support ﹥Pair your remote.
