Why does the watch noise app erroneously report high decibels of noise in situations involving water (e.g. taking a shower, sitting in a hot tub, etc)?

Thanks much. I understand how it works. My question suggests that there’s a defect in the approach to measuring sound levels when water is involved. I guess engineers will fix it when enough people are annoyed with the erroneous notifications. For clear air situations, it works fine.

"The Noise app measures the ambient sound levels in your environment using the microphone and duration of exposure. When Apple Watch detects that the decibel level has risen to a point where hearing could be affected, it can notify you with a tap on the wrist."
