RecipeBook not working

My RecipeBook app cannot be opened anymore. I know it had been off the AppStore for a while but it was working on my iPad until the update to iPadOS 16. There are many recipes in the app which I entered painstakingly over many years.

  1. Any suggestions to get RecipeBook to work again?
  2. failing that, is there any way to retrieve the recipes?

Thanks in advance for ideas!

A year or so ago this happened and sometime along the way the developer must have updated the app and it started working again. Currently luckily I did not update my phone to new IOS so I still have access. I’ve also had success with an older IPad I have. But when this happened before using ITunes or the Cloud I exported my RecipeBook data into cloud and then imported into an app called Paprika. So no recipes lost. It’s a comparable app although I like RecipeBook better

As described, the App that you have been using has been withdrawn from the App Store by the Developer. While the existing downloaded App has continued to work with iPadOS15, your description indicates that the App is fundamentally incompatible with iPadOS16. Such issues can occur when older system-libraries, upon which Apps often rely for core functionality, are deprecated and removed from the Operating System.

As an updated version of the App, compatible with iPadOS16 is evidently not available, you’ll not be able to access data (recipes) that you have previously stored within the [now] non functioning App.

Your only way forward is to seek assistance from the App Developer - if you are able to do so:

How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Unless an updated version of the existing App is released, you may be unable to recover any associated data.
