Yes, true, but when you file your tax returns electronically via any software (TTax, H&RBlock, etc.) you are sharing your entire tax return with that company and have to trust their security anyway.

Use their software to do your taxes and then print your taxes to send in. Do not file electronically. Yes, this opens up the chance of mail being lost and may delay your return but if you balance your with holdings correctly you would not be getting a substantial return.

I use Turbo Tax online (even though I have a Mac running latest macOS). It is very good and will run on Macs running macOS or later. It runs in a browser and no installation is needed.

Not everyone wants to trust yet another company with their personal information. Running local, storing local is more secure. Too many data leaks these days. H&RBlock software works with 10.15.7.

Just found out the issue while trying to install turbotax 2022. Couldn't install neither from CD nor download. Hope I could get my refund from costco. Have to dump turbotax.
