Siri cannot make calendar appointments

Approximately a month ago, Siri has suddenly stopped being able to make calendar appointments. Whenever I try to schedule an appointment using Siri, after asking me to confirm, I get the below message:

” sorry, something is wrong. Please try again”

This is only for making calendar appointments. Reminders, to dos, et cetera are working fine.

This is regardless of whether I use Wi-Fi or data. This happens both at home, in my office, or outside on the street. I’m hoping they’re something to help me with this, short of of doing a hard reset.

This only happens for contacts that have an email address associated with them. If you use Siri to create a meeting with a contact that does not have an email address, siri creates the meeting and siri does not say "sorry, something is wrong. Please try again”.

I'm surprised that no one at Apple Support / Apple Technical Support hasn't identified and resolved this issue.
