Unable to install Zoom on Ventura

I am not able to install Zoom on the most recent Apple update which is Ventura 13.0.1. I reached out to Apple Support who stated that Zoom is not their app, reach out to the developer (Zoom). Wow. Didn't even try to walk me through the steps to ensure I was doing it correctly.

I reached out to Zoom and they've been trying to help me to no avail. They were surprised that Apple wasn't more helpful.

Has anyone run into this issue? I have a Mac Mini also on Ventura 13.0.1 and not zero issues installing Zoom. Zoom is working on my Mac Mini.

Appreciate any help!

Hi! I've taken a snapshot of the error message. This is a brand new MacBook Air M1 Chip. Did not have Zoom installed yet, trying to get it installed now.

  • 8-Core CPU, 7-Core GPU, 8GB Unified Memory, 256GB SSD Storage¹, 16-core Neural Engine, 13-inch Retina display with True Tone, Two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Force Touch trackpad, 30W USB-C Power Adapter

It doesn't matter if I attempt a 'basic' install, "Install for all users of this computer" or "Install for me only", all attempts get the same error message.

Thank you for the feedback! June

p.s. Security is set to "App Store and identified developers".

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and try to install from there. Then reboot normally.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

I have a few questions before I take a stab at answering, as I want to be sure that my answer might actually be useful to you:

  1. What happens when you try to install Zoom? Do you get an error message? If so, what does it say?
  2. Were you running zoom on the same machine prior to updating to 13.0.1?
  3. What are your machine specs? (e.g. M1 MackBook Pro 14 in. 2021)
