Want to record videos in mp4 format on my iPhone 13 pro max

I have followed the instructions I have found online to change my camera setting from high efficiency to most compatible and my videos are still being saved as .mov files. HELP!

Iphone 14 will not record in MP4, even though setting is for "most compatible". Has anyone figured out what happened to the MP4 format? I don't need to hear which formats iphone supports. I need to know how to record a video in MP4. As it is now, the "most compatible" setting in camera settings, records in MOV format. I have switched it back and forth and restarted the phone. iphone 14 will not record in mp4 format, even in "most compatible" setting. I have always set my camera to most compatible mode so it would take jpeg and mp4. For some reason, it started recording in .mov and when I check the setting, it is still set as most compatible. I switched it to high efficiency, recorded a vid, then switched it back to most compatible and recorded a vid. Both were recorded as .mov. My still photos are still being taken in jpeg, it is only the videos that are wrong.

The "High Efficiency/Most Compatible" settings are for photos, not videos. To make them MP4 videos, you'll have to convert them in some way. You could use an online converter or app to accomplish this.
