iPhone XR keeps freezing and then restarting

Hey I have an iPhone XR with the same issues I updated the iOS to 16.2 I’m having the same exact issue as you! Did you find the problem?

BlueWhoGirl ~ 78% maximum capacity is weak and is the reason for the restarts. And the long process of applying an iOS update to an old iPhone with a weak battery can be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." ...So have the battery replaced and all will be well:

Try Restarting your iPhone Or fix it by connecting to iTunes

It restarts its self like every 30mins if I’m using it. I’ll try iTunes but not sure what iTunes will do in this situation? My battery level is also at 79% close to bluewhogirl posted. The battery level and service is still under normal operating conditions so that sways me from the battery being the issue. Also charging and all no problems. I noticed it since I updated to iOS 16.2. Freezes and then restarts screen goes black and shows small lil gear icon stuck then I manually restarted it by clicking volume and power boom turns back on then it’s fine for 20 or so minutes. Next thing you know cycle begins again. It just started doing this like 3 days ago it’s getting on my **** nervous because I use my phone a lot for navigation at work! Thank you for your help!

Herooo ~ The overriding factor is that weak 79% maximum capacity, so the battery is indeed the issue. Have the battery replaced.
