Can't respond to group texts

Until 12-22-22, I could participate in group texts without issue. Suddenly, I can receive all group messages, just can't reply to anything. I get the infamous "message failed to send." I have restarted my phone, made sure group messaging was turned on. I've even deleted group texts & tried to start new threads. But if one of the members does not have an iPhone, I can't respond to the group. However, I can respond the individuals within the group may they have an Android or iPhone.

iPhone 13, iOS 16

Glindsey155,

In that case, since you're still unable to send group text messages, we recommend contacting your wireless carrier directly so that they can work with you to find a solution.

Contacting your carrier can help you to see if the type of message you're trying to send, like MMS or SMS, is supported.

Hey Glindsey155,

We'd recommend reviewing the information in this article as it provides steps to help resolve issues sending messages and problems with group messages: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad

"If you have issues with a group message

If you’re in a group message and stop receiving messages, check to see if you left the conversation. Open Messages and tap the group message. If you see a message that says you left the conversation, then either you left the conversation or you were removed from the group message. You can rejoin a group message only if someone in the group adds you.

To start a new group message:

  1. Open Messages and tap the Compose button .
  2. Enter the phone numbers or email addresses of your contacts.
  3. Type your message, then tap the Send button send message.

If you have other issues with a group message, you might need to delete the conversation and start a new one. To delete a group message:

  1. Open Messages and find the conversation that you want to delete.
  2. Swipe left over the conversation.
  3. Tap Delete.

In iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, and later, you can recover a message if you deleted it within the last 30 to 40 days."

Thanks!
