when I purchased my i pad, I was told I had to have a cellular phine number for the I pad to be able to use Face time. What I have read is that I can use Facetimeas long as I am connected to wi fi. Can someone please confirm this

Do I have to have a cellular phone number to be able to make a FaceTime call on my I pad. I do have a wi fi connection.

The number that is associated with an iPad with cellular is for carrier billing purposes only. It’s never used for texting or FaceTime. You use your Apple ID for FaceTime from an iPad.
