iPad with or without cellular?

doni need anything specific in order to do FaceTime from an iPad?

No, FaceTime can happen over Wi-Fi or over cellular, but cellular is not required at all.


The only restriction is you won't be able to FaceTime when away from a Wi-fi network, which is resolved by having cellular data service, much like a phone.


If this is not a concern, and you plan on FaceTiming form a place with Wi-Fi always, then you don't need cellular.
