“Near me” is wrong

When I google for a location “near me”, my phone keeps giving me suggestions for places in San Jose. I’m not in San Jose. How do I fix this?

Hi Gina196,

We'd recommend checking your location Services under Settings > Privacy > Location Services.

If you're using Safari, Ensure that Safari Websites is set to While Using the App. If that still doesn't get you a precise enough result, you can also toggle on Precise Location in that same page.

Should the issue persist, double check if you're using a VPN and it is active. As VPNs virtually shift your location, some discrepancy in location based results is to be expected. In this case if there is a VPN active, it is likely in San Jose.
