2014 Mac Mini Set up With Magic Keyboard

Just purchased an old mac mini (I needed it for some older software) and don’t see any options to pair my old magic keyboard and mouse with it on initial set up. They turn on, but nothing happens on the screen and I can’t get past the first set up screen.

Is this an issue with the keyboard/mouse and the computer should be seeing them? I’ve read mixed responses about BT pairing at set up, but that with Apple devices it should work.

Wanted to double check before I go searching for a cheap wired mouse and key.
