I have been noticing recently that my iPhone 14 pro gets noticeably warm with limited usage. I spend 5 mins on instagram and feel the warmth. I just updated the iOS software to the latest one available (16.2). Hoping it resolves it.
Has anyone else been facing this issue?
Overheating can be caused by running too many apps at one time or performing processor-intensive operations like gaming or video streaming. I am surprised that your phone is getting hot just using Instagram. Were you connected to your charger at the time? I once left my 14PM running a battery level indicator app (with animation) whilst charging and found that it got quite hot.
There is a difference between apps being open and apps running. It is generally held that apps that are only open do not consume power. However, if an app is, say, downloading a movie in the background whilst you are using another app, that is a different matter.
No. It was not connected to the charger.
I don't game on my phone. But I do youtube a lot.
Is it advisable to close apps if they are not in use? Or does it not make any difference?
