Contacts corrupted

Nearly all my contacts have been suddenly corrupted by text added to the numbers, such as XUSER, or XUSERDID, or xteamidentifier. This of course means dialling with Siri or just by tapping the number has become impossible, so I have to edit each contact, one by one. Whatsapp seems to appear among the text strings. What just happened?

Contacts "corrupted" Over the past week, I have noticed that phone number that I had on my contact list were no longer being shown as saved contacts in WhatsApp, for example. After further investigating, I discovered that the reason behind this is that these contacts had "item1.X-ABLabel:home" added to the end of the phone number, which made it impossible for the phone numbers to be associated to the contact cards. Initially, I thought it had happened to only a few contacts, so I was editing the contact cards and deleting the "item1.X-ABLabel:home" manually. However, I have just realized that this has affected pretty much all my contacts. Is there a reason for this to happen, or is there a way for me to correct my contact cards faster or in manner that wouldn't have me editing each one of them individually?

Contacts being corrupted with additional information I've been noticing issues with Siri being able to find people in my contacts. As I've started going thru my contacts they're a strings being attached to the ends of some fields in some entries. Usually it is being attached to the phone number, country or homepage fields. it tends to start with x-item like country "United StatesX-Item" and then a bunch of information that looks like meta data for an app. Included are things like CATEGORIES:Personal, etc. Does anyone know which apps might be corrupting the apple contacts?

I have the same problem, it’s extremely annoying! and I don’t know what to do.
