MACBOOK AIR--I have searched and tried "How to Remove Safari from Dock".
It disappears for a second only to reappear.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Do you see Safari towards the right part of the Dock? If so, this may be Handoff: Pick up where you left off with Handoff on Mac - Apple Support.

I think I finally got it----it is gone for now and has been for about 2 minutes----so hopefully it is gone.
