Mac Messages app showing phone numbers not names

I am having the same issue that is in this thread: Mac messages show phone number and not co… - Apple Community

But I was unable to add to it.

My problem started when I upgraded to Ventura 13.1 and it is intermittent. Many people who respond to these queries assume we are all using iCloud and some of us are not.

This problem is not earth-shattering but it is annoying so if there is a fix I would like to know. It seems to only happen on my iMac. My phone and iPad are fine.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

I do not think that is the issue. When I see the phone numbers and not the names, that is the case for all the conversations in the display and most of them are already in my Contact Book. If I mouse through the list, one conversation at a time, and click on the conversation the phone number goes away and the name appears. As I said this started when I upgraded to Ventura 13.1.
