An alias icon is NEEDED...again

There is a purpose to an alias icon & the little arrow. I organize my entire desktop w/aliases & it needs to be VISUAL, but if the only workaround is to manually copy the original image to aliases, it defeats the EASE of making an aliases & SCREWS UP my Mac's performance.

Apparently since Big Sur, this has been an issue Apple doesn't care about. Why?

PLEASE address this by returning the "feature" that you took away over the years.

GOOD but no longer an option in Ventura or any OS since Mojave:

BAD WORKAROUND:

WORST & ONLY image option NOW:

Without the arrow, these icons eat up the Mac. It's really a BIG DEAL to MANY of us.

I see what you mean. Applying icons to an image omits the alias indicator. Making an alias of a folder with a custom icon loses the custom image.

Unfortunately, this is a user-to-user support forum. You can send general product feedback to Apple here, or file an official bug report using the other "feedback" site.

But don't get your hopes up. I can virtually guarantee that this will never be fixed.
