passcode isn't working

I just purchased a macbook air and all was going well getting it up and running, but it won't accept my phone passcode when trying to add my email address (other than icloud). What to do?

Your iPhone passcode is not shared on any other service or device and cannot be remotely changed.


You need to setup your own unique passcode for your Mac.


If you have forgotten your Mac login passcode; after trying three attempts, you should find an option to reset your passcode with your Apple ID.


From there, you simply follow the prompts and your Mac should simply restart like normal.


NOTE: You may need to sign back into iCloud and other services after the successful login.
