Ventura upgrade Photos Library

Hi I upgraded my 2019 Imac from Big Sur to Ventura. Restored my Photos libraries ok, but there is no "Library" option in the left hand side panel. Just the list of recents, places, people etc. So no Library that I can press to see all the photos. Can't find any solution.

Any suggestions??

Hey there Joewdwd,

Upon reviewing our own Photos app on our Mac with the latest macOS Ventura 13.1 update installed, we do see 'Library' in the Photos app sidebar listed at the very top. We also took a peek into the 'View' options in Photos, and we do not see an option to 'disable' the 'Library' option.

With the above in mind, we'd like to confirm more details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some general possible causes:

  1. What's listed at the top of the sidebar in Photos?
  2. When was the last time you were able to see 'Library' at the top of the sidebar in Photos?
  3. If you go to the 'View' option in Photos, then hover your mouse over the 'Photos' option, does 'Library' appear in the list that shows?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  5. The latest version is macOS Ventura 13.1. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

Cheers!
