FaceTime Handoff Issues Since 13.1

Hello,

Ever since updating to 13.1, I have been having a lot of issues with FaceTime handoff. It started with handoff not even showing up on my iPad Pro 11". And then I kept getting errors that I was not signed in for FaceTime calls, despite clearly being signed in. A few hours later I started getting bombarded with messages that I was just then signed into FaceTime on the MacBook Pro.

It is now hit or miss that I can use handoff without FaceTime crashing on the MacBook Pro… I am not sure if it has something to do with that iCloud update?

Make sure your iPad is fully up-to-date with iPadOS 16.2. On macOS make sure there isn't a pending iCloud update / terms agreement you need to apply. Reboot both devices.

Ensure bluetooth is enabled on both devices and you are logged into the same WiFi network.

You can try signing out of iCloud and back on to both devices if it's still not working. You can also try resetting the networking in iPadOS. Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPad -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. You'll need to re-pair bluetooth devices and rejoin WiFi networks.

Hello,

Sorry, I should have clarified that I already did those usual "fixes". None of those "fixes" have worked: both devices are fully up-to-date (macOS 13.1 and iPadOS 16.2), I have restarted both devices multiple times, there are no more pending agreements, and so on… Interestingly, it only crashes when it attempts to handoff to the M1 MacBook Pro. I have absolutely no issues with handoff to the iPad, just macOS 13.1. I did not have this issue prior to updating to 13.1.
