MISSING ITUNES LIBRARY

I had to reset my iPod but had no worries because I had my iTunes library on my Windows PC. When I tried to find it it had disappeared. I still wasn't concerned because I had the library backed up on an external drive. When I tried to transfer it to my PC I got a message that there was not enough space. I checked my C drive which showed 82.5GB used (of 101GB). When I looked at the files/folders there was less than 40GB visible. My iTunes library is 46GB. I can't find it but I am certain it is on my C drive. Can anyone help please?

See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community.

Or you could try running the backup copy of your library directly from the external drive by holding down shift as you launch iTunes, clicking Choose Library, and browsing to the location of the iTunes Library.itl file in the backup copy.

See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support and review your sync settings. If there is media on the device that isn't in your library see Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community first.

It worked! My iTunes library is now back on iTunes. Thank you. Unfortunately my iPod refuses to sync. I get a message about transferring purchases from my iPod but sync will not highlight. I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes but I don't know what to do now.
