Latest update forces me to use Safari instead of my default browser. After I updated to Ventura 13.1 I'm forced to use Safari no matter what I have set to default. I've double checked all my settings. I use Brave set as my default browser. Yet when I click on a link, it opens in Safari. If I right click on a link and select open with, it shows Safari as my default. Again, it's not this way in my settings. I can use my other browser when using this right click method, but this is a pain. This has only happened since the update. I've read where others are using a script or something to fix this, but that's beyond my abilities. I finally switched from windows to a macbook pro. This is not what I expected from Apple. Please fix this...

Safari not loading websites I keep having to jump over to Chrome to access certain web sites. Considering switching to Chrome as my default browser since I keep having to launch it anyway. I keep thinking we'll get a Safari update that fixes this issue. But it's been going on for months and getting worse. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Default browser not being used Do we have any updates about .webloc file automatically defaulting to Safari? Right click file > Get Info > Open With: > Greyed out defaulted to Safari I am trying to switch it back to Chrome to get it to auto-launch the file, but is stuck on Safari.

Many others have reported the same issue. Tell Apple about it via Feedback - macOS - Apple. The more user report it the more likely it'll get on the urgent fix list.
