Family requests aren’t coming through

My sons requests are no longer coming through on my phone and I’m organizer. Why?

We understand that Ask to Buy is not working as expected. The best steps to take to resolve this issue will be to review your settings as outlined here: If Ask to Buy isn't working


"On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Family. If you don't see Family, tap your name, then tap Family Sharing.
  3. If you're the family organizer, make sure that Purchase Sharing is turned on. Then you can tap a family member's name to see if Ask to Buy is turned on for their account."

Hi.


The only thing that worked for us was to sign my kid out from icloud (and restarted the phone which might not have been necessary) and then logged him back in.

(I found that tip on another forum.)


I spent hours trying everything before that and every setting was correct, but it still didn't work. No notification reached me from his phone. Very frustrating.

(They did reach me from his iPad so I figured that the problem must be something on his phone.)
