M2 iPad Battery Life

Hello,

I have recently got my M2 iPad Pro 512 gb cellular 11inch about 3 weeks ago. The main and only problem i have with it is the awful battery life. I have tried everything. I have turned off background app refresh. I have made sure that my iPad was at moderate brightness and everything else! Yet my battery life still sucks. And it is very inconsistent. When I first got it, I backed it up from iCloud and the battery life was terrible from the start. I would continuously get how, especially on the left side. I was on CrunchyRoll for about an hour and it went from 100% to 80%. That is disgusting. And whilst I was doing this, I was on cellular data. My iPhone 14 Pro Max can last 3 times longer than this thing. However, when I am on WIFI, it wants to lasts an hour longer. So that brings it from lasting 4 hours to 5. Still awful. As a result of this, i decided to factory reset my iPad and not back it up from iCloud. The first 3 days were great. With regular use, I lasted me all day. However, all of a sudden, it can barely last me on hour without draining 20% on cellular. As a college student, this is very depressing, especially considering how expensive this iPad is. I brought it so I can keep it for the next few years, but right now, I am thinking about returning this. I am at a loss, and I do not know what to do anymore. It is very disappoint on how such a big device like this can barely last you half a day. Yet it is continued to marketed as a Laptop Replacement. This whole ordeal makes me regret buying this thing. Makes me wonder if I should have just never brought on in the first place. And what irritates me as well, Apple Employees keep on tell me the same generic thing “Go to battery and see what is taking up your battery life” and all of the other annoying steps. These never work.

Ever since I updated my last iPad (8th gen) to iPad OS 15 last year, the battery life has been disgusting ever since. Same for this device. i am frustrated and tired and I do not know what to do. There is no need for Youtube and Tiktok to make my battery go from 100 to 75 in an hour and a half, when it takes my phone 3 hours to do that.

Someone please help me, Thank You

My wife has a 2020 8th gen iPad that is just doing fine on iPadOS 15.7.2.

She is not complainng of any issues or battery problems.

Whatever you are doing on your iPad 8th gen that is causing your poor battery life, it appears you are doing the exact same things with your new iPad Pro.

I have an old 2015/2016 iPad Pro that is over 6-years old that gets about the same battery life as your much newer iPad models and I am on my iPad for most of the early evening into very early morning.

You need to figure out what things you, commonly, do on both iPad models.

Then, come up with a commonality that may point to why both of your iPads are experiencing poor battery life.

You need to start by looking at all your battery stats in Settings app, Battery ( on both devices ) to detemine which app/s or combinations of apps are causing all of your iPad models battery issues and adjust accordingly.
