iphone 15 pro battery draining almost as fast as my iPhone 8 with light/moderate usage
I recently upgraded my iPhone 8 and got the iPhone 15 pro - I was so looking forward to being able to use my phone and not have the battery drain quickly.
Much to my surprise, even with very light usage, it still drains ridiculously fast!
I don't do anything intense on my phone - 30 mins of duolingo per day, some twitter scrolling, some news app scrolling, listening to podcasts while driving or walking, the occasional text, and I might open yahoo mail to delete mail, or a grocery store app if I'm planning to make a run that day. I rarely make/receive calls on it.
It was draining so fast, I decided to do a test (more than 3 days after I set it up, so it shouldn't have been downloading or configuring anything in the background) - charged it to 80% one night, then waited 24 hours, with light usage (I still had my old phone set up, and didn't have a case for the new phone yet, so I still used the old phone for a lot of stuff), and checked the battery menu.
It went from 80% to 31% in 24 hours - 49% loss. Better than my iPhone 8, but not nearly as good as I was hoping for a brand new iPhone 15 pro (my friend who has a 13 pro said "I use my phone a lot during the day. Take a ton of pics, always replying to fb or ig for work. And my 13 never runs out of power in a day."
Looking at the battery report, Duolingo used 18% in 30 mins, "Home & Lock Screen" used 13% in 46 mins, google maps used 8% in 18 mins (4 mins on screen, 14 mins background), messages used 8% in 16 mins, everything else was below 8%. News used 6% in 6 mins (told ya I didn't use this phone that much in this 24 hours test), Podcasts, yahoo mail, and twitter only used 2% each.
I barely touched my phone, and it lost 49% of the battery in 24 hours. Is this what $1500 gets me??
